We Provide a Holistic Approach
Who We Are
Fayetteville Pelvic Health & Wellness was started by Lacy to bring a specialty experience to Fayetteville and Ft. Bragg, NC. The first boutique-style PT clinic in town, our focus is on easily accessible care, one-on-one attention and high quality PT. The goal at FPH is to make every patient feel seen, heard and supported no matter what their goals may be. While we focus on all things pelvic health we also provide direct access care for orthopedic conditions without having to go through weeks of waiting.
We take time to understand the big picture – your symptoms, movement patterns, lifestyle and goals. Everything is tailored specifically to you rather than a one size fits all approach.
Fayetteville Pelvic Health is a one-on-one practice, allowing for more time with each patient. This means fewer overall visits, access to your PT through your portal any time, and no restrictions on how to treat you. We offer easy scheduling with most appointments available within 48 hours.
We always welcome you to bring baby or children to your visit because we know how hard it can be and strive to make this a safe and welcoming place where you feel fully cared for and supported.
What is Pelvic Health PT?
Pelvic Floor PT, previously known as Women’s Health PT and now Pelvic Health PT is a specialty of Physical Therapy that focuses on the pelvis and surrounding areas. We are orthopedic therapists with various backgrounds who have attended classes that teach us how to treat specific conditions such as the following:
- Urinary leakage, urgency, and frequency
- Pelvic pain
- Pain with intercourse
- Pelvic floor weakness or tension
- Pregnancy and postpartum concerns and recovery
- Constipation and bowel dysfunction
- Tailbone pain
- Pelvic pressure and prolapse
- Diastasis recti and core dysfunction
Your First Visit
We always start by getting to know you. You’ll sit with Lacy and discuss symptoms, concerns, and goals that are important to you. While a pelvic exam can often be helpful, this is always optional and something that you will discuss each appointment. There is much more to pelvic PT than just internal work!
Because of our practice model our first sessions are 1.5 hours to give plenty of time to talk, look at the big picture, get treatment done and set you up with your home program. You will have access to your PT as needed between sessions and determine a treatment plan together that works for you, your schedule, your family.
We Work on the Entire Body
Often, we focus on the area between the ribs and the knees, however as we often say, “Everything is connected” so we always look at the big picture. Here are just a FEW areas that often play into pelvic floor dysfunction:
- ankles and feet
- jaw and neck
- midback
- low back
- gluteal muscles
- hip flexors
- abdominal muscles
- abdominal fascia and organs
